Emily White is a writer and performer from Boorloo/Perth, who has also lived in Naarm/Melbourne and Turin, Italy. They are interested in telling bizarre stories about absurd people. Motivated by conflicting desires to make people laugh and make people horny, Emily’s work usually fits somewhere between the categories of comedy and erotica. In 2020 they won the Rachel Funari Prize for fiction, and in 2022 was shortlisted for Gasworks' Queer Playwriting Award.
Emily has performed extensively in outdoor interactive theatre, touring to Perth, Melbourne and Canberra. Emily is an associate performer with the Brunswick East Entertainment Festival, and can often be found making absurd physical comedy as part of their queer comedy coven, The Titwitchez.
