She's a comedian. Lauren Bok is an award-winning comedian with big energy and big face. She does stand up, burlesque, mimes and silly voices, often in that order. Nominated for the Golden Gibbo at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2019, she has been described as 'jaw-achingly brilliant' by The Music and 'a joy to watch' by the Herald Sun. You can see her stomping on stages in Melbourne mostly and occasionally other places. It could be hosting out the front of the Melbourne Museum for The Very Big Laugh Out Loud, or on the Burlesque Showboat, listening to her D&D podcast Dice Paper Role, running around in a puppet, or doing audience warm up for TV, or running workshops, or just being that funny person in line at a supermarket. She truly is everywhere. She's been called a champion of the independent spirit of comedy, and is a fierce advocate of fresh new ideas and intersectional spaces. Winner of the "Prize Hog" unofficial MICF award for most gigs done at MICF 2023 (38 shows). Yeah damn right that's going in the bio.
