Uma Dobia is a soprano who refuses to be put in a box. With warm and eclectic storytelling, Uma takes her audience on a journey through operatic, cabaret and musical theatre repertoire, as well as her own original songs. Uma graduated from the Master of Music Performance (Opera Performance) at the University of Melbourne (2022), and is a current Resident Emerging Artist with Australian Contemporary Opera Company.
In 2020, under previous stage name Carmen Modjito, Uma released a climate action song, House Is On Fire, adding her voice to the climate fight. Uma is excited to finally be sharing her lifelong experiences of food allergies and Crohn’s through her original cabaret, Intolerant, and to be premiering the show in her home city of Melbourne in 2023.
